2012 Recap

Joe Nall 2012: Best Ever!

What do you get when you combine over 1050 registered pilots, six dozen great vendors, thousands of avid GS fans, 400 acres of pristine grass, all sprinkled with liberal doses of Southern hospitality? You got it. Joe Nall 2012. For those lucky enough to attend, it was a smorgasbord of fun, fellowship and flying like none other that’ll deliver memories of a lifetime.

With a full week of adventure, it’s tough to boil down the highlights. But we’ll give it a shot:

-         More helicopter pilots (over 100) taking advantage of the beautiful north end flying a mixture of scale and 3D

-         New U-Control circles were a hoot for many to re-live their early experience in this fascinating, while checking out some of the latest in UC technology – electric flight

-         Bob Saddler returned to provide his uncanny insight and whacky antics to the event

-         In a surprise twist of events, we bestowed the coveted Joe Nall award to the hardest working CD ever: Mike Gregory

-         We’ve had engagements at Joe Nall before, but this year we had our first wedding. Congratulations to the high-flying friends Wesse and Katarina for tying the knot with hundreds of your new family friends at the ‘Nall

-         Watching 9 year old Justin Jee flying his GS aircraft on the 3D flight line

-         Seeing Robert Komro’s 60% L-4 fly over the lake – how could you miss this one!

-         Emmerich Deutsch brought 16 of his modeling buddies from Germany, complete with biplanes and jets, to entertain the crowd as only these professionals can

Like many of the really special things in life, trying to explain Joe Nall 2012 is impossible. It’s one of those things you have to experience.

Make your plans for 2013 today.
