Welcome to Frosty Dog Electric

Frosty Dog 2013

This fun little event is representative of what Triple Tree is all about: a great place for aviation-minded folks to get together and have a ball sharing experiences.

Weather for this year’s Frosty Dog (named because it is held on what the almanac says is the coldest day of the year)  was unseasonably warm – in fact, it was more the “Foggy Dog” until about 9am. An electric-only event, we ended up having pilots spread throughout the Triple Tree grounds – many were hanging out in the lower 3D area, some “mid-field, others at the float fly spot, with most at the main gazebo. All kinds of interesting things showed up – a quarter scale biplane, warbirds of all types and quite a variety of speedsters and helis.

Now in its third year, this event is really gathering some steam. Our buddy Tommy Fortsch sent us a note that said “I had a wonderful time Saturday. My friend – his first time at Triple Tree - thought the place was awesome and could not believe how nice everyone treated him”. Hurrah for everyone – Thanks for helping newcomers feel welcome. As always, hospitality reigns supreme at Triple Tree.

Thanks to CD Mark Davidson, over 100 pilots enjoyed the day, with more than 150 taking part in the fixings for lunch.

Great job, everyone. Come join the fun next year.
